The Government has withdrawn a measure to increase the maximum number of people who can be members of self managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) from 4 to 6.

Although we understand the measure is still Government policy, due to the inability to pass the measure in the current parliament, the Government was withdrawn the legislation for now.

Notably, Labor currently opposes the measure – meaning, with an election looming, this may not see the “light of day”.
