IP Australia is providing applicants with an opportunity to file a free streamlined extension of time of up to three months due to the COVID-19 disruptions.

Streamlined extensions are available for many (but not all) patent, trade mark and design deadlines. This means that businesses applying for an Australian trade mark can effectively extend the time available to overcome objections to registration that may be raised by the Australian Trade Marks Office during the examination phase of their application.

Streamlined extensions will be available via application to IP Australia until 30 September 2020. To assist in this challenging time, our team is pleased to attend to these extension requests free of charge for our existing clients.
