The Role

An opportunity exists in our IP team for a permanent role and we are open to flexible work options. You will be exposed to intellectual property matters, acting on behalf of business clients.

About You

Ideally you will have 5 years post admission experience, broad commercial experience where you can provide advice on, and draft agreements relating to the commercialisation of IP in a variety of commercial transactions. These transactions include technology licensing, manufacturing and supply arrangements, sales and marketing arrangements, publishing, agency agreements and assignments which can form a part of major M & A transactions. You will have the ability to identify IP ownership issues and implement strategies relating to the infringement of intellectual property rights, how intellectual property rights can be enforced and further protected.

You will have broad experience across copyright, patent, design, plant breeders rights and trade mark law. 

You can liaise with the Australian Trade Marks Office in relation to the prosecution of trade mark applications and you can prepare and file trade mark applications for clients as well as provide general branding and protection advice.

The successful candidate will have-

  • experience in IP law as a Senior Associate (5 years PAE)

  • good drafting and technical skills;

  • highly developed client skills;

  • strong verbal and written communication skills;

  • good organisational skills; and

  • a positive attitude.
