Sladen Legal is a leading commercial law firm providing high-quality legal advice to private enterprises. Our State Taxes & Superannuation team is seeking a motivated Law Graduate to join us in mid-2026 at our Melbourne CBD office.

About the Role

Our 12-month Graduate Program is designed to develop both your legal expertise and commercial acumen. You will gain hands-on experience working on meaningful matters, supported by structured training, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance in a collaborative team environment.

Work in our State Taxes & Superannuation team will include technical research, drafting documents, assisting in responses and objections to revenue authorities (including the Australian Tax Office and Victorian State Revenue Office) and assisting with preparing technical advice.

As part of the program, you will also complete the College of Law Practical Legal Training (PLT) on a part-time basis to support your admission to legal practice.

You will be supported throughout the program by a dedicated supervisor or mentor, typically a senior lawyer within the team, who will help guide your development and progression.

This role is well suited to a law student looking to gain hands-on experience in a commercial law firm while balancing their university studies.

About the role

Working closely with our lawyers, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with drafting correspondence, reports, and legal documents.

  • Assisting with monthly billing and general file administration.

  • Conducting legal research and analysing relevant case law.

  • Coordinating and attending meetings.

  • Supporting team members in preparing documents and presentations.

  • Assisting with the preparation of internal and external marketing updates and articles on relevant legal developments.

  • Managing administrative tasks related to client matters.

  • Participating in firm CPD sessions and departmental events.

  • Excellent time management skills, a proactive approach to deadlines, and high attention to detail.

  • Full working rights in Australia.

  • Ideally, at least two years remaining in your law degree.
