Commence February 2027
Full-time
Melbourne CBD
PLT fees covered by Sladen Legal

Sladen Legal is a commercial law firm dedicated to providing quality legal advice and services to private enterprises. Our Dispute Resolution & Litigation team is seeking a motivated Law Graduate to join the team on a full-time basis from February 2027, with an early start available for onboarding and training from October 2026.

About the role

Unlike a traditional rotational graduate program, this role is specifically for a Graduate who wants to build their career in Dispute Resolution & Litigation. You will join our Litigation team and remain within the team throughout your graduate year, gaining meaningful exposure to the work, clients and matters of the practice.

If you are looking for a graduate program that allows you to rotate through different areas of law, this is not the role for you.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in Dispute Resolution & Litigation and is excited by the opportunity to develop their career in this area.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Gain hands-on experience working on a range of commercial disputes and litigation matters;

  • Work closely with experienced specialist lawyers and have the opportunity to take ownership of your work as your skills develop;

  • Develop your legal research, drafting, analytical and advocacy skills;

  • Build an understanding of the commercial and strategic considerations involved in litigation;

  • Receive structured support, mentoring and feedback throughout your graduate year; and

  • Undertake the required Practical Legal Training (PLT), with Sladen Legal covering the cost of your PLT.

You will have a dedicated supervisor or mentor within the team who will support your development and help you transition from university into private practice.

About you

  • Have a strong interest in Dispute Resolution & Litigation;

  • Demonstrate strong academic performance and a commitment to developing your legal skills;

  • Have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;

  • Be commercially minded and interested in understanding our clients and their businesses;

  • Have a collaborative and proactive approach;

  • Be able to apply yourself in a dynamic environment;

  • Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and a willingness to learn; and

  • Be motivated to make the most of your first step into a career in private practice.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit the following via the seek link below:

  • Your current CV;

  • Your most recent academic transcript; and

  • A cover letter of no more than one page outlining why you are interested in Dispute Resolution & Litigation and why you would like to build your career in this area.
