Isabel is a Senior Associate in the Intellectual Property team. She has broad experience advising clients of all sizes on how to navigate their intellectual property rights through a commercial lens. Isabel works with all types of businesses and has extensive experience with creative businesses, including graphic designers, live event promoters, games studios and developers, content creators, and talent-based enterprises.

She approaches each client’s business with curiosity and commercial insight, aiming to achieve outcomes that align both with their legal rights and business objectives. Isabel believes that intellectual property is a fundamental business asset and an integral part of long-term success.

Isabel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications and Advanced Japanese Language, as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne. She also spent time studying at Waseda University in Tokyo.

Isabel’s areas of practice include:

• Trade mark opposition proceedings and non-use actions (Australia and overseas)

• Intellectual property infringement disputes, particularly in copyright and trade marks

• Enforcement of intellectual property rights, particularly in copyright and trade marks

• Drafting sale, transfer, assignment, and licence agreements

• Australian Consumer Law compliance and clearance advice

• Screen and games development grants, chain of title clearance review and advice
