Sladen Legal is a leading commercial law firm dedicated to providing top-tier legal advice and services to private enterprises. Our State Taxes and Superannuation team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join the team on a casual basis, ideally working Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from our Melbourne CBD office.

This role is well suited to a law student looking to gain hands-on experience in a commercial law firm while balancing their university studies.

About the role

Working closely with our lawyers, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with drafting correspondence, reports, and legal documents.

  • Assisting with monthly billing and general file administration.

  • Conducting legal research and analysing relevant case law.

  • Coordinating and attending meetings.

  • Supporting team members in preparing documents and presentations.

  • Assisting with the preparation of internal and external marketing updates and articles on relevant legal developments.

  • Managing administrative tasks related to client matters.

  • Participating in firm CPD sessions and departmental events.

About you

  • Currently studying a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor.

  • Available and committed to working ideally three days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) in our Melbourne CBD office.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Excellent time management skills, a proactive approach to deadlines, and high attention to detail.

  • Full working rights in Australia.

  • Ideally, at least two years remaining in your law degree.
